The decision to quash the UKSSSC exam, held to fill vacancies in various departments, was taken following submission of the one-member inquiry commission report by former High Court judge UC Dhyani. Following submission of the report, a statement issued by the UKSSSC, said: "In order to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, transparency and credibility of the examination, the commission has decided that it will be appropriate to cancel the examination held on September 21, 2025. The examination stands cancelled and it's proposed that re-examination will be held after three months." The ministry said that Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi during a press conference, in New Delhi on Friday. The exclusion of women journalists from the press conference sparked outrage, with many questioning why India allowed such restrictions on its soil. The ‘homecoming’ of Dr Kumar, a bitter critic of Nitish Kumar, is seen as a move to fill the vacuum left by Jagdish Sharma, a major Bhumihar community leader in the Magadh region, who, along with his son Rahul Sharma, joined the RJD on Friday. Pak propaganda machine targets Sqn Ldr Shivangi Singh again after she becomes IAF’s first woman QFI PARWINDER SANDHU New Delhi, 11 October Just hours after Squadron Leader Shivangi Singh created history by becoming the first Indian woman fighter pilot to receive the prestigious Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) badge, a Pakistani propaganda account named “Ousai2002” attempted to stir controversy by alleging that the Indian Air Force had shared a digitally altered image of the officer. After completing an intensive six-month training programme at the Indian Air Force’s Flying Instructors School in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu, Sqn Ldr Singh earned the coveted QFI badge during a felicitation ceremony held on 9 October. The honour was conferred on her by Air Marshal Tejbir Singh, Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) of the IAF’s Training Command. This is not the first time that Squadron Leader Singh has been targeted by fake propaganda. Earlier, during Operation Sindoor, several rumours circulated claiming that India had lost multiple fighter jets, including a Rafale. Some reports even alleged that Sqn Ldr Singh ~ India’s first and only female Rafale pilot ~ had been captured near Sialkot after ejecting from her aircraft, which was purportedly shot down. A fabricated video also went viral on social media, falsely showing IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visiting the home of the “captured” pilot. public forum sends a troubling message in the country that women are too weak to defend themselves. In a post on X, Mr Gandhi said: “Mr. Modi, when you allow the exclusion of women journalists from a public forum, you are telling every woman in India that you are too weak to stand up for them.” He criticised PM Modi for his silence in the face of such blatant discrimination, saying: “In our country, women have the right to equal participation in every space. Your silence in the face of such discrimination exposes the emptiness of your slogans on Nari Shakti.” Senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P. Chidambaram also weighed in, criticising the incident and suggesting that male journalists should have walked out in protest when they found out that their female colleagues had been barred from the press conference. PM meets US envoy-designate Sergio Gor to boost India-US partnership STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE New Delhi, 11 October Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met with Sergio Gor, the newly confirmed US Ambassador to India, in New Delhi. During the meeting, PM Modi expressed his confidence that Gor's tenure would further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. "Glad to receive Mr. Sergio Gor, Ambassador-designate of the US to India. I’m confident that his tenure will further strengthen the India–US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership," PM Modi said in a post on X. Mr Gor was confirmed as the US Ambassador to India by the US Senate on October 8, 2025, with 51 senators voting in favor and 47 against. At 38, Mr Gor becomes the youngest US ambassador to India. He has been a close ally of President Donald Trump and served as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. Earlier in the day, Mr Gor met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, discussing ways to deepen cooperation under the bilateral strategic partnership framework. Deputy Secretary for Management and Resources Michael J Rigas, also accompanied Gor during the visit. Key areas of cooperation include strengthening cooperation in defense and security to promote regional stability and security, enhancing trade ties and resolving outstanding trade issues between the two countries, and promoting cooperation in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and renewable energy. The meeting comes amidst the additional tariffs levied by the USA on India.
