Squadron Leader Avani Chaturvedi will soar high on her on her Sukhoi-30MKI jet, becoming the first IAF woman fighter pilot to take part in such aerial wargames in a foreign country. Caste census begins in Bihar The much awaited caste based census in Bihar began on Saturday in which more than two lakh governmen employees would be engaged for carrying out this stupendous task. In the first phase of the census, the listing of household and details of family members would be done for a period of 15 days commencing from January 7 to 21. This would be the second caste based census in Bihar. The first one was done during the British period way back in 1931. The Central government’s rural development department had conducted caste/ socio-economic survey in 2011 but details were not released reasons best known to the previous government. The second phase of the caste based census would be from April 1-30 in which the government will collect data of caste and skills of individuals. The final report of the census would be released in the month of June this year. The order came after the investigating officer (IO) submitted in the court that Mishra is not cooperating with the probe. The police had moved the court seeking three-day remand of Mishra. However, the court sent the accused to 14-day judicial custody. Chaudhary questioned the need of such huge exercise. 14.Jaipur District Collector Prakash Rajpurohit had issued an order extending the winter vacations of schools till January 14 for Classes 1 to 8. However, the examinations being conducted in the schools will continue during this period. There will be no change in exam timings, the order issued on Friday evening said.The order further says that preparations for the programme to be held on Republic Day will continue. Action can be taken against the operators of the schools who disobey the order. Earlier, winter vacations in the city were declared from December 25 to January 5. Tweeting on the conference he said “Some of the other issues I talked about include PM Gati Shakti and how to build synergy in realising this vision. Urged the Chief Secretaries to add vigour to Mission LiFE and mark the International Year of Millets with wide-scale mass participation.” “Over the last two days, we have been witnessing extensive discussions at the Chief Secretaries conference in Delhi. During my remarks today, emphasised on a wide range of subjects which can further improve the lives of people and strengthen India's development trajectory,” the Prime Minister tweeted. Officials said the conference had heralded a "new era of cooperative federalism" by making the process of policymaking and implementation more collaborative and consultative.” Addressing the conference on its concluding day, he said the States should formulate policies and schemes focusing on human development, while there should be spread of higher skills.
