He began his speech by paying tributes to the martyrs of the 2021 Parliament terror attack. The Defence Minister hailed the Constitution and called it a roadmap to keep the country united, democratic and selfreliant. “We the people of India adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949...I heartily congratulate this House and all the citizens of the country on the occasion of the completion of 75 years of adoption of the Constitution... I can say that our Constitution paves the way for nation building by touching all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life...” “The Constitution of NEW DELHI, 13 DECEMBER India is a moral compass for every citizen and provides a strong sense of identity to every individual," said Mr Singh. An altercation took place between Mr Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition in the House Mallikarjun Kharge over the no-trust motion. Mr Kharge accused the chairman of “partisan” conduct in the Rajya Sabha. Mr Dhankhar, in response, said: “I am a farmer's son; I will not show weakness. I will sacrifice my life for my country. You (opposition) have only one job 24 hours a day, why is a farmer's son sitting here... look what you are saying... you have the right to bring a motion but you are insulting the Constitution.” Mr Kharge retorted: “I am also a son of a farmer. I have faced more challenges than you... You are insulting our party leaders; you are insulting the Congress... We have not come here to listen to your praises”, adding that they have come to the House for discussion.
